Hi Guys,
So ... I had one of those G5 Logitch Mice with 1 thumb button (Mouse 4) which I assinged to vent. Worked like a charm and didn't interfere with the in game "F" for chat.
It always bothered me that there was only 1 thumb button. So when the time came to get a new mouse for another computer in our house I got an new G5 with the 2 mouse buttons.
Now I can't get it to recognize MOUSE 4 or 5 at all.
Question is ... WTF? Do any of you use the G5? Do you use the SetPoint control panel for tinkering with the in game DPI and mouse button assignments? For that matter, what key do you guys use for vent and for in game DoD:S.
Thanks, Go Leafs Go!

Crane, I do in fact use this mouse, and I also use MOUSE4 as my Ventrilo button.. I've had no problems with it recognizing the thumb buttons with the exception of a few games (none of which are made by Valve). My best advice would be to download and install some drivers for the mouse if you haven't already done that. Those can be found here: www.logitech.com/index.cfm/support_downloads/downloads/?selectedcrid=398&selectedcid=135#Otherwise, uninstall your mouse drivers through device manager (Start/Control Panel/Device Manager/Mice and other pointing devices), then unplug the mouse and plug it back in. That should reinitialize that nifty Windows software recognition wizard that no one ever pays attention to. I suspect that maybe you have your old mouse drivers on there and that it might potentially be fucking with mouse button recognition. Hope it works boss, keep me updated!

Well partial success. I unstalled the drivers ( should have done that in the first place ) and re-installed them. The new G5 performs as it should everywhere. In Vent it now recognizes the Mouse 4 button and when I do a test it is successful. There are different mixer settings I can use and they all work.
BUT ... when I try my new settings in a Vent Channel my icon doesn't light up ... voice is not transmitted. Wierd eh? I was boring Worrom to tears with this last night.
Also, my son love's your animated band of brother's gif. What did you use to make it? After effects?

Word, I'm glad that worked..
I actually can't take credit for this GIF, though I wish I could because it's hilarious.. I found it on a website and almost laughed myself to tears.
